hi Al,

The link that you gave me, (http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/BERENDO)  if you didn't notice, has a search button to the extreme right. It takes you to the following link:
http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/search?aop&path=BERENDO .   There you can search all the Berendo list messages using a key word such as "eddy".  I did that and got one hit with your dad mentioned in it.

HI Johnny,
Yes, that was their 50th party on May 2 1987. I'll attach one more, which is all that I have digitized.
Your links are much better than the one I found here.

Hi Al,
Thanks for the pictures. They're great!  I'll put them up on the Berendo.net site.  Can you tell me the approximate dates by any chance.  They seem to me to be 1980ish.  Was the occasion your folk's 50th anniversary?  Is that your house and yard in the background?

As far as your Rootsweb question:  Are you referring to the stuff found at http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~jdumas/berendo//berenstr.html (Berendo Stories).  There's a link on that page that takes you to your account of Manuel's memories at this link: http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~jdumas/berendo//manual.html.  I don't know if there is a facility that Rootsweb provides to search individual sites if that's what you want to do.  We just happen to use Rootsweb's freepages to store various Berendo pages but Rootsweb really knows nothing of them accept that I administer them.   I might not be understanding you completely, so straighten me out if I've misunderstood.

Hi Johnny,

In going through mom's stuff I found these extra pictures. If you wish, put them on the Berendo group. I also found in her note A mention of Manuel's memories  on the Rootsweb site.
I found the rootsweb site here, but is there any way to search it for specific subjects?

Thanks

Re: Google Earth

Hi Gang,
I don't know about 3D, but I did notice that there is one swimming pool in the Berendo area.  It is at the house across the alley from the Latourell's.  We would have known about it if it had existed in our time.  The closest other swimming pool seems to be at about 111th and Hoover.

I was surprised to read that "3D buildings" is based on public info. Apparently some satellite pictures are shot at 45 degrees. When it started out, you could only get 3D on San Francisco, so I figured some geek had  laboriously drawn in the elevation views. Look for drone photography to provide pics of your neighbor's cat (rear views only until pets become accustomed to the technology.)

Although you cannot tell the make of cars I could see that the truck in my lower parking spot had the car cover on it.
