Hi Al,
I don't remember that happening when I have camped in Yosemite, but its an interesting social phenomena. It is a social memory that strengthens itself by the very act of saying "Elmer", and can last as long as people continue to camp in Yosemite. Thanks Al, for passing that link on to us.
