Thanks for the link.  I tried to use ChatGPT to find Lupi Saldana.  He was the outdoor sports editor for the old LA Daily News back in the 40s and 50s.  He later wrote for the Mirror and then the LA Times.  ChatGPT couldn't find anything.  Then I used google and found the Daily News archives at UC Riverside and found all the old Saldana columns there.  ChatGPT isn't quite there yet as an AI.  I'll try to look up Saldana at newspaper.com next.

Yes he went to Woodcrest through, I think the 8th grade. There was no high school nearby so he moved back to Yuma for high school. When  he learned that Washiington was opening he moved back for his 12th grade. There were 5 seniors that year, 1928

112th was busy and high-speed during the period it served as a detour
around Imperial Hwy. I went into kinder at that time (1947), and on
the return trip I had to wait for mama to come walk me over to the
Maggies' side (no crosswalk at Berendo). But I also remember that a

112th, causing screeching brakes both ways, and Lamora called mama to

Interesting that they took out the circles.  Several circles in D.C., like DuPont Circle, have a statue in the middle, so they won't be taken out anytime soon.

I think the garage next to the alley was a single car garage.
