Re: [BERENDO] me again

Hey Steve,
Good to hear from you. No problem with the mixup. I don't know how timely this will or where and when Shelley will be visiting. My home number is 509-476-3061. My cell is 509-322-0556. It would be great to hear from them. I really haven't kept up with your family lately.
Hope all is well with all of you.
Dave

[South Berendo Days] New comment on Re: Fires in the Neighborhood?.

John Dumas has left a new comment on your post "Re: Fires in the Neighborhood?":

Mike Dumas pointed out that we had a fire right on our block. The Chenier's house caught fire when a floor re-finishing project went awry. Fortunately no one was in the house. For a while, until their house was restored, the Cheniers stayed across the street with the... Wombleys?. In this case the house didn't burn to the ground and just a lot of interior rework put the house back into shape for living in.

Re: [BERENDO] THE SIXTIES.......

Hi Diane,
We had some trouble getting your message. It was bounced for being too large.
But, I figured it out, I think. You wanted to send us this
link: http://objflicks.com/TakeMeBackToTheSixties.htm . It's a great summary of
the Sixties. I am enjoying watching/listening to it right now.

I don't know what's going on with our list server, but I'm getting more
legitimate messages being rejected. I'm still working on a new venue for us. I
have pretty much given up on the Facebook idea, but am working on a new webpage
for us. This may ultimately mean we will have to change our list server. I'll
keep you all posted.

Johnny

From Diane's Post of Last Year - A 1936 Stainless Steel Ford

Just thought I'd bring back the 1936 Stainless Steel Ford from Diane's post of last year. The car's a lasting beauty.

Re: Fires in the Neighborhood?

I also seem to remember a fire on New Hampshire, somewhere between
112th and Imperial. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

[South Berendo Days] New comment on Re: Fires in the Neighborhood?.

John Dumas has left a new comment on your post "Re: Fires in the Neighborhood?":

I looked up the county fire department fire house locations and found one on Normandy and 108th street. I don't know how long a firehouse has been in that location. This one looks like a fairly new one. Maybe it replaced an older one in the same location. This is right next to Washington High School.

Re: Fires in the Neighborhood?

It seems to me at least one house burned down.  I have the distinct memory of stomping around in soggy charcoal remains on the way home from Woodcrest school. - Johnny

Re: Fires in the Neighborhood?

Does anyone recall where the closest firehouse was?  I feel like it may have been on Normandy.

Fires in the Neighborhood?

Does any one recall any fires in our neighborhood.   The only one I can recall right now was a fire at H&H Lumber on Vermont and 112th Street.

Re: [BERENDO] Another jump rope rhyme

Wow! Just a piece of rope. Yet so much fun to play with. An inspiration to
budding poets. A motivation to exercise without hardly knowing it. And so
portable. I'm sure the children's shoe companies love them. Did the shoe
companies ever give out free jump ropes with their logos on the handles?

[BERENDO] Another jump rope rhyme

Hey there,
I only got 5 years on Berendo, but I remember them pleasantly -- and
everything a lot bigger than it looks in the photos now. Did we all
live in that tiny house?
I loved jump-roping. In my time we only had 24 robbers knocking at the
door -- inflation I guess.
Here's another one:
Blondie and Dagwood went to town
Blondie bought an evening gown
Dagwood bought the Evening News
And this is what it said: one...two...three...four [count jumps til you miss]
